I’ve been the person friends and neighbours call whenever they go away, and somewhere along the way “can you watch my dog?” turned into the best job I’ve ever had.
I keep things deliberately small. I only take on a few dogs at once so everyone gets real attention, proper walks and a spot on the sofa. Your dog isn’t a booking number to me. By day two I know exactly which side they like to be scratched and which toy is non-negotiable at bedtime.
